Default Engine advise

A few of my mates with rs turbos have said i need an uprated intercooler with the mods that have been done to the engine or its gunna blow up
Is this true ? If so what the best cooler to use ? just a universal one ?

Engine spec is as follows

chipped ecu (running 15psi)
-31 actuator
hybrid turbo (not that old)
full mongoose stainless exhaust with 3.5 inch tailpipe (not that old)
bleed valve
bailey dumpvalve

i wouldnt say its gonna blow up, but ur pretty much on the limit, a bigger intercooler would be benificial to get charge air temps down therefore more power and if you ever go any further with engine mods.

go for a GRS front mount (the daddy) or pace do a double capacity one thats pretty good if thats more of ur budget.

grs fit very very well (mine does neways)

and its shifs well enuff till i turn the boost up more

uni cooelr will be fine aslong as

1,its gonna fit (not just the placing but hose work, fans in the way etc etc)

2, its actually better, u wanna have similar bore pipe for ease of fitting and fairly slim to fit in front of the rad cos there aint really newhere else to put it on a rst

they come up on ebay fairly regular

my grs is like this, both pipes on the rhs (lookin at car from front) and are perfect lenght so you dont even need to cut or extend the pipe work

good luck with it, would be good to see other types fitted cos every 1 is goin for what looks basically the same, mind you i think its cos they are the best design
