Default best valve springs?

Is it possible to use standard ford valve springs with a 285t2 cam.
is anybody doing this with good results?
if not what are the best anti coil springs, not happy with my piper springs.

Thanks.

To be honest i may be jumping to conclusions.
A couple of replies i had about a recent post of mine suggested valve float or possibly a worn cam but the engine is only 3k old, i run the cam in properly. I did notice that my original valve springs were a little tougher than my new piper springs, obviousley due to less material

Basicaly my car is loosing power between 5 and 6 thou.

What do you mean by losing power between 5-6k? Is it noticeably running out of puff? It could simply be all done by then. What Turbo is it?

Is it Misfiring?

It could be lifters. Thats quite likely.

cvh cams seem to be shit at the moment. id have a look to see if there are any lobes left.

Peak power around 5k is not unusual anyway, depending on spec.

It is possible that the engine is giving up, but i thought a uprated cam pushed the power band further up the rev range allowing it to rev higher.
Its the way it looses power, just seems to stop pulling at about 5 thou, doesnt sound right after that.
Im using a turbo technics stage 3 blower and the engine runs sweet, no misfire allways runs on optimax. Everything is new and set up right. The lifters are pipers own, 3k old.

newman tell me that the double valve springs are the same poundage as the standard springs but they have better harmonics.
Just been out in my car again and it is really anoying how it gets to 5 thou and looses momentum, even sounds different through the zorst.

How come on this months performance ford the piper kit they use comes with double valve springs? recent upgrade by piper?

I've read his article on his website, sounds like the best head available, lots of work gone into that one

do you use solid lifters? is there any point me purchasing them if im only planning on revving to 6200.
Do you think the newman off the shelf turbo cam will be enough. i.e is it a mild or wild one, on comparison to 285t2.

newman cams only work with solid lifters because they are chill cast blank Hydraulic lifters would knock the cam lobes out quite quick i dont know the profile but ava use the cams in all there cvh heads one of them shows peak power at 6400rpm the cylinder head is excellent gives 50bhp over any stage three head u care to use
