Default read this ,new wheel bearings lasted 3 days!!

got new front wheel bearings put in the wifes frst and ther noisy as fook after just 3 days the originals lasted 14 years
been back to the garage and ordered new ones with out even taking the car out..

think your right mate, i wud of done the job myself but on the front wheel bearings you need special tool to get them out, rear ones r easy to do
iv done the rear on my erst and ther fine so thats garages for you!

There's no special tool for the front bearings, their the same as the rears, you just have to remove the brake caliper and contend with the strut

steviep, r u sure mate, iv asked on the fiestarsturbo.com site and thay said ther is?
thay said the fronts are very hard with out the tool, i think its a puller . and it shows one in the haynes manual

Positive, done loads of 'em, you can use a puller but it's simple enough to just drive the races out with a drift the same as the rears.

what a fooker i wud of done the job myself, and probaly done a better job
did you torque the bearing or do on feel? do you no the torque figure?

I don't bother with a torque wrench, best way to tighten it it with mole grips.

Clamp them onto the nut and do it as tight as you can just by twisting the mole grips, then undo half a turn and retighten, don't forget the split pin.

And if the bearing wont come out with a drift run a line of mig weld on the inside of the bearing shell and it will just fall out
