Hi there, cars going for MOT soon but my handbrake light doesn't come on when handbrake is on, the abs light does come on and I can't remember if the abs is suppose to come with the handbrake light when handbrake applied.
The bulb for the handbrake is ok.
Is there a fuse or relay I should be checking as I know the low brake fluid level is also on the handbrake circuit.
I do know the car has had the abs removed in its life but abs light only comes on when handbrake on.

Tried earthing the wire for the handbrake switch?

 

I have and Abs light comes on, also low brake fluid level doesn't make the light come on either,so is there a relay or fuse I need look for?

Yes bulb works fine

 

Handbrake & Abs are separate systems, so bulbs will eliminate independently of each other when required. Does the light come on when you turn on the ignition?

If you know any mot testers or want to call the garage you’re going to use, it may be worth clearing up whether the light not illuminating is actually a fail, from what I’ve read as long as the handbrake works it shouldn’t be an issue.
