abs (orange) light

Default abs (orange) light

maybe being a dumb ass here, i have the orange light on. what could be the prob and how serious is it? just never had this prob on any car so dont know what im doing here..........

im nt completely sure but i fink it means ur abs belt has snapped or is out of place or the sensor that detects this is fooked but it may aso act as a brake fluid low warning light??????

mine only seems to come on when the handbrake is on??

robin: yours is working correctly then. That is when the light should illuminate..altho the red one should be on as well. Maybe a bulb is out on the red one.

Yea the orange abs light means that there's a fault on your abs. More than likely one of your abs belt has snaps.

ah, but it does go out when i take the handbrake off. so is that okay then? my escy gti one never came on, only for a few secs when the ignition is on then went off. cheers peeps

Yes. it is working as described in my other reply. your red bulb is out by the sounds of it.

cheers chap the only problem is when i do use the handbrake the red light only comes on when i first start the car and not any other time when the handbrake is applyed

Check your wiring down on the handbrake itself then. This may be faulty/ dodgy connection possibly.
