Default wierd handbrake light prob on a s2...

over the last couple of months i have developed a lil prob.

when i lift the handbrake, the handbrake and abs lights come on. when i brake towards a junction/roundabout, the handbrake light flickers (w/o the abs light). it goes a second or 2 after i have come to rest.
any ideas?

that light isnt the handbrake light, its the master brake warning light...

doesnt necessarily mean theres a problem with the handbrake

Try topping up ya brake fluid! When it gets low it passes a sensor which tells you on ya dash ! (hence flickering) Thats why the fluid always needs to be checked and topped up to the max WITH THE CAP ON!

thats what i was told... but i checked that and i have enough fluid.

its doing it more and more, now it does it on the over-run, w/o actually using the brakes.

Have you checked the wiring on the cap,to the master cylinder?
What about the wire on the handbrake to ground under the carpet/console?

Add some brake fluid. Trust me, this is so common. The level doesn't have to be at "min" for the light to come on. It's enough that it's not at "max".

it IS the brake fluid level as Jessie says, I have had this before in my S2. You need to just top up the brake fluid because whats heppening is the fluid is being thrown forward under braking and the little float in the cap is detecting a drop in fluid and warning you about it.

Top it up to the max mark and it will sort it
