Default Scorpio 2.0 DOHC in Sierra 4x4

Hi y'all I'm trying to finally get my Sierra 4x4 Estate going after 7 years being dead. It has the 2.0 DOHC 8v engine and I finally took the cylinder head off. Cracks in the middle of the combustion chamber between the valves so it's cooked.

I live in the USA so this engine is non-existent here but I'm committed to this engine because I want to keep the car 4wd and it seems finding a similar engine is the most cost effective. No matter what the engine will be professionally rebuilt.

I found a Scorpio 2.0 DOHC in Norwich for like 250 quid how can I tell it is an 8v and not a 16v? Not a lot of these engines for sale.

Lastly big issue the seller won't ship to the USA (he will ship to the UK only) but I'll see if I can work him over.

Cheers gents.

Do you have a picture of the engine or the car? The 16v engine was only introduced in the last version of the Scorpio (1994-1998). But on the earlier years there was also a DOHC carb version and the head of those is different from the fuel injected ones.

This is an 8v DOHC injected engine, just as in your Sierra.

If I'm not mistaken the 8v DOHC engine in the 1994-1998 Scorpio had a bit lower compression (9.8:1) and a bit less power (115 hp) compared to the earlier one (10:1 compression and 120 hp). But I believe the difference is in the pistons and not the head. But from the outside it's very difficult to tell the difference between the early and late engine.

So... you live in the USA but your car is registrated in Trier in Germany?

It's a fake plate but yes the car's last registered number in Germany is what that fake plate is based on.

Hi, I shipped out to you some years ago some new parts for your Sierra from Southampton. Looks like you need more stuff now. Contact the seller of the engine for sale in Norwich who shold be able to confirm exactly what specification the engine is. Good luck!
