Engine in my sierra is dead. It was 2,0 8v DOHC. 2.0 16 V engine from the Scorpio, I will be able to reconcile with the existing clutch and gearbox and other parts?

not sure if the scoprio lump is I4 like the rs2000 tho

Not sure about the rs2000 unit , but im fairly confident its the same as the 2.3 unit from the scorpio and that is mated the the MT75 box , Im pressuming that its the MT75 that will be in your car.

Wont stake my life on it but I think it will fit

The I4 isn't pinto based

You should be able to swap and twin cam 8v or indeed 16v in there without much hassle.

The N3A engine is 16V and uses a VIS system. This is incompatible with the Sierra system without modifications. Even running without the VIS is a bit of a nightmare to do right.

The best option would be aftermarket management (MegaSquirt or similar).

The 2.0 16V and 2.3 16V units will fit, but the 2.3 will need to either have the sump fins "trimmed" where the crossmember is or remove the balancer shafts and bridge the gap in the block.

Clutch and gearbox will be fine to swap over. If the Scorpio was automatic, you will need to remove the balancer shafts anyway and swap to the Sierra manual sump as the starter motors are on different sides (or use the auto starter upside down and extend the power lead to it).

What is wrong with the original engine? Might be quicker and easier to fix.

Im sure the 8v sierra engine has a similar bottom end as the 16v engine,

liquid from cooling system goes in cylinder. I've already changed the head gasket 2 times. I think that in engine block is a microcrack.

I would recommend skimming the head (10-20 thou max) or replacing it. Most likely is either a warped head or cracked cylinder head (probably around cylinder 4)

@ Glennyboy: the basic bottom end is the same between the 2.0 8V and 16V engines as long as the engine came from a Scorpio, not a Galaxy. The problem is the top end.

The 2.3 though is different due to the balancer shafts fitted. The block has a bit cut out which needs a metal insert making and fitting or else the front lower cover does not seal.
