Default Heated winscreen

Car back from coachbuilders and was starting and running fine. However they had broken two of the tags off the windscreen.
No Joy getting them back on so just had windscreen fitted. Now car struggles to start, runs for a bit then dies when I take
my foot of the accelerator. Can't see how this can be related to no circuit for the screen? Seriously fed up as it's always
two steps forward, three steps back, be glad to see the back off it.

Potential air leak on engine, completely unrelated to windscreen.

Thanks stubear but after owning these things for over 40 years, my first thought but damned if I can find it. Trailer to Blackpool in the offing as I've had enough of it.
Chances of finding anyone in Scotland to help me is nil!

Hi mate,

just a thought, have you tried to disconnect the new windscreen and then see if the car will run? Just to see if it’s actually causing the issue? Fault finding can be a right pain in the ass.

good luck

Thanks for that Blake, thought the lack of an earth might be the problem but don't think the screen is relevant to it. Does eventually start if I rev the nuts off it but doesn't like to idle.
Very strange as it has been starting first turn of the key and running fine for weeks, Will check compression, voltage to fuel pump and injectors. After that I'm stumped. Looking to trailer it to Stu at Blackpool as have no
confidence in the clowns up here

Just refitted the original heated screen but with two tags broken, it won't work. Not sure if new ones are available but not fussy as it's not likely to be used in Winter.

I'm not sure how the turbos work but on the Cossie the alternator signal wire to the battery light on the clock also earths out the relay for the heated screen so you can't turn on the heated screen unless the car is running.i know this because i spent hours trying to diagnose why my heated screen wasn't working and then read somewhere the car had to be running before it would work lol .I think this was to prevent flattening a battery if the car wasn't running
