Default Simply Ford at Beaulieu today.

My local (15 minutes from where I live!! ) Simply Ford show today. Great weather for it and over 1000 Ford cars turned up. Pretty good selection from the 1940s and right up to date 2022 models. Plenty of classic Escorts,a couple of Anglia's,Prefects,Granada's, Capri's, Fiesta's, Cortina's,early Mustangs and a few Sapphire Cosworth's, an RS500 and a few 3 doors. A lot of newer Mustangs and of course newish Focus STs, Focus RS and Fiesta's.It was nice to catch up with various people I know as well.I think most people who went will be pleased with how it turned out.

Very well put together Anglia.

Zetec engine on bike carbs

Massive power Saff!!

Another Massive power Saff. Both of these Saffs are well known and are a credit to their owners!!!

New set of wheels anyone?

Unusual to see a modified Mondeo, very smart engine bay on this one!

Same car from the side.

Nice new Mustang on their stand.

There were quite a few new Mustangs this year.

The Holy Grail!!! Stunning RS200!!!

Not sure about this yellow Saff.

Very smart re-painted in Porsche blue fiesta.

Nice MK2 Lotus Cortina.

4 smart Granada's

This looked like it had just come off a farm in America!!!

Nice Engine bay of a MK1 Escort.

Classic Lotus twincam, nice one!!!

My old Saff

My engine bay.

Not sure about the RS200 as the owner was not around when I looked at it. I was not aware there were non genuine reps of such an iconic car, but I guess the cost of a genuine one must be eye watering these days!!!!

yeah, there is a chap building quite a few…some were Toyota mr2 re-bodies and others are the Kara copy using the original moulds. I expect Jay would know about them too.

The RS200 comes up as "Mercury Motorsport" for Vehicle Make on DVLA. Looks good compared to some of the"replicas" around.

So does that mean it is a genuine original RS200?

No, it is a kit based on the RS200. It is a little longer and was designed as a Rally Car but can be made road legal. Uses a lot of Cossie bits with bespoke suspension. I posted a link to their site above...have a look. It is a nice kit but budget Ł50k + and that's without a big cossie motor build...you can spend 20k easily on 500hp these days.

It looks like a very well built car and even if it cost Ł70k still way below the cost of a genuine original RS200.

absolutely, I would put this up there with the Ultima. Probably more useable than a real RS200 as they are very agricultural until you get them up to speed, at least with these you can build them how you want as a road or race car.

i tried to buy a part built one a few years ago but they wanted too much for how much work and parts needed sorting and it only had a low power Saab engine. Needs to at least look like a bda (or whatever variant the originals were)

Was there myself with my Escort Cabriolet, parked over on the hard standing near the announcer booth and some Capri models.

Nice day, no trade worth talking about though.

There were quite a few Escort Cabriolet models there this year, the big Auto jumble was a couple of weeks ago, loads of people selling all sorts of parts etc. You were not far from where I had my Saff.

I was on the end of the row next to the entrance to the hard standing, blue MK4 Escort Cab with the roof down
