Default ST150 Track Car

Thought I would start a build thread for my new track toy and update it as it progresses.
I bought this off a mate that has had it a few years and never really used it. It's been parked up for at least 6 months and i was looking for something to use for track days so he talked me into buying it.
It's already got a full miltek exhaust and different cams. I've ordered a copy of the cosworth inlet too so that will soon be on.

Pictures of when i bought it. Sat at his garage.

It definitely looks a bit sorry for itself but that will all change soon enough.
I got it to my workshop last week and started stripping it and getting it ready for the inlet fitting and the front end painting

Mostly stripped now

As it currently stands

I'm just waiting for the inlet to arrive then its service and remove aircon time. Then it's going back together with the power steering reservoir moved.
I'm changing all the glass to perspex too as soon as that arrives to save weight.

This week i'll paint the front end and make a start polishing the rest up for now and over the next few weeks i will sort seats and harnesses and a new steering wheel.
I'm going to drop down to 16's too and run road legal slicks. What do you guys recommend? The 888s?

Cool cars these. I drove My friends ST150 a few weeks back. For a 150bhp they go really well.

I've always liked the MK6 Fiesta ST, I'll be following this build.

Not much progress at the minute due to work and waiting on parts but it’s starting to look more like it should rather than something that’s just being stripped

all the windows are now in

started relocating the p/s reservoir but need to make up some sort of bracket on the n/s inner wing/strut top area

Inlet is now fitted. If anyone is considering fitting one of these I’d advise seriously questioning if you need it. It didn’t fit well at all and has been on and off many times to get it right.

a/c has been removed now too so this pulley sorts that

My dad has made these so that we can duct cold air to the brakes. He’s currently on with making blanks for things like the door wiring and that sort of stuff too

these have arrived too so need to sort tyres and get them on.

still haven’t had chance to paint the front end yet but I will once work calms down and then hopefully more progress can be made

You want to check out the XR-ST challenge, the leading class is all what looked like st150 fiestas.
i have just been watching them at Oulton park today, and the fastest lap times were Very impressive.
i don't know what kit they are running though suspension wise, but they were certainly working well.

I’ve looked into those and the specs they are allowed. They are running Gaz coilovers so I may look into those depending on how it goes with what’s on it. Which to be completely honest I haven’t even looked, I just know it’s on coilovers
