1.9 CVH Rebuild

Guys I have a 1.9 CVH turbo that i'm thinking of rebuilding. Any ideas on what parts to source etc?
Finding 1.6cvh rebuild bits is easy but not so much on the 1.9?

Some dodgy reviews online tho. I think i'll get him to provide the parts and i'll build it. How hard can an old CVH be?

DefaultYes mate it is a u.s engine out of their escort, ive got a 1.9 cvh american tall block in mine and its a popular route for specialised engines and a few others.
I think the block is a 1860cc capacity, the conversion is available in this standard bore which allows for a rebore when the engines tired or 1905cc straight away which is still within ford tolerances, thats why some people use this route as it the increased capacity within tolerance and the nice gain in torque which is attractive.
Dont get it confused with the other 1.9 conversions that are out there though as they use different routes to achieve the desired capacity, some are shoddy to say the least

I 99% sure specialised engines use the US 1.9 block, not an over bored 1.8cvh. With forged internals it should be good for 280bhp reliably which is what i am aiming for.
The other option is to go zetec turbo for a reliable and unstressed 300bhp.

My 1900 was fit and forget took everything I threw at it for 5 years, until I snapped the rear chasis legs jumping a hump back bridge being chased by the feds 😂😂 landed perfect all 4 wheels off the ground 👍

Agreed, a well built cvh should be fit and forget. Although that said i do have a low mileage zetec engine in the garage.
I'm at a bit of a cross roads currently with what to do engine wise. Zetec's make good power and drive nicely, but take away the character of the car i think.
The messing around with making a Zetec fit puts me off slightly.
