Default Suspension gurus monotube Vs twintube

I've just been reading up about different dampers

From what I've read twintube dampers generally are softer and more compliant whereas monotube are firmer by there design

My question is if I'm right in thinking a monotube damper will require a softer spring than a twintube damper as the monotube is firmer and faster to dampen the spring ?

Not something I'd thought about til literally just reading about it 🤔🤔

Both monotube and twintube dampers can be made softer or harder. In my opinion you should choose you desired spring rate and then match the shock to the spring, independent of it being a monotube or twintube.

From what I've read so far monotube dampers are always stiffer as they have to run a high nitrogen pressure because there single tube
