Default Rs turbo Gearbox - Clutch arm / fork

Evening all ,
Just a quicky, need to remove the clutch release arm / fork out of my gearbox but its the one piece one ( not the s1 style with the little bolt ) , assuming this is possible but it looks like there's not enough room , do i need too take the bush out first then it comes out on the angle ?

many thanks

With the release bearing off, it just slides straight up, nothing more to it. Not sure how you'd remove the bush without removing the arm first anyway

It looks like the arms that hold the release bearing are welded onto the vertical shaft ...as oppose to the one with the little bolt connecting the verical shaft to the release bearing carrier

Ah so its not a single piece arm - single piece arm is the vertical and horizontal that the cable then goes through all as one (giant L if you remove it).

I assume you're talking about this?

A later "low lift" arm (less travel and less effort iirc)

Must admit every box I've ever had pass me by has used the earlier arm, but if you can't wiggle it out then yer i'd guess pop the bush out to give you a bit of angle to work with. Can't see any other way of doing it without putting an angle grinder to it

Thats the badger !
that ls the pic i was about too upload lol.
Yeh im thinkinking there might just be enough room with the bush out but obviously the bush is mega tight etc. And il probably have to murder it out etc.
ive asked a gearbox rebuild guy but i think my question is getting lost in translation.

cant imagine its 'cast' into the b.housing so it must be possible

The gear box man replied...

as we thought...the bush comes out the top then its pulls out inside the b.housing.

must be a sweet spot / tight angle .

Might give it a go

Nice one for updating the result - too many of these oddities get resolved but nobody confirms how

Totally agree.
Www.gears.tv was the company. Had a box rebuilt there before. Good service
