Have enyone tried? I bought rear starter ib5 to replace my old bc box because bearings. Starter hits the oil filter but have heard there's way out of it ?
People keep saying it "should" work. But I've never seen any proof yet.
When Ford started to use the rear starter boxes, the 1.4 PTE (CVH successor) still were fitted with front starter boxes. When there's no big issue fitting rear starter boxes to the CVH engine then why did Ford only use these boxes on the Zetec-E and Zetec-S engines?
Yes bought the back starter box and the gap between filter and starter mount is maybe 30-40 millimeters ? Some engineering before you get it there. Also had to chop one gearbox mount bracket from cvh block. It lined up straight to the ib5 starter mount hole.
They probably didn't. The breather pipe stands in the way and even when you use an oil filter relocation kit there's not enough space for any starter motor.
They all probably had early Zetec engines, no big issue using rear starter boxes with these engines.
