Default Sierra Sapphire 1.8 CVH timing belt kit

Hi All,

New here. I am in the mist of restoring my old Sierra Sapphire. Doing a full service at the moment and euro car parts don't have the timing belt kits in no more and predictably ford don't make them anymore either.

Does anywhere know where i can get my hands on a kit without A. wasting timing for it to turn and be the wrong one and B stupidly expensive.

Also where could i get a water pump from ?

A lot of companies still sell the timing belt. Ford part No.: 1 001 090; sold by Dayco, Gates, Continental, Flennor and Triscan (and probably many more) for 10-35 Euros; NTN and SKF sell a whole cambelt kit with tensioner for about 80 Euros.

Water pump: 1 233 206; MagnetiMarelli sells them for about 35 Euros. I also found pumps from Hepu, GK and Airtex, but these are more expensive, 85-125 Euros.

There are still many available, maybe try another dealer?

EDIT: Water Pump 5 020 121 is an exchange part for car guarantee, there are many more available at nearly the same price as the MagnetiMarelli.

Great, fantastic. Just trying to learn and get my head around everything, I'm tech head than mechanical head. Even though I've wanted to get stuck in to doing my own work on the saph. Just getting the garage to do it since I have zero space currently.
