sierra timing belt
should my sierra dohc 93 have a toothed belt as mine is a v grove style belt and i can not find one any where. i just checked it and it bending and rubbing on the tensioner. could it be the wrong tensioner as it worn away half the belt and killing my water pump!

DOHC had chains, do you mean a drive belt?
I should think yours is meant to be a V belt, the tooted belts tend to be an older affair.
It sounds like perhaps someone has fitted the tensioner wrong (Upside down perhaps) you will need to address this as well as replace the belt.

the tensioner seems to stick out to far and is getting in the way of the straight line the belt ment to be. anyone got a pic of what the dohc tensioner ment to look like in situ. i would take a pic but fire wall wont let me upload pics at the mo

could any one tell me if the bolt in front of the tensioner should be held in with a bolt. as the bould on mine doesnt do anything i just wiggled and pulled the tensioner off. it the spring loaded one like on a scorpio. should there be a big washer to hold the thing on???
