Default 3dr wheels further out one side than other?

Am I being mental or do my wheels stick out further on the passenger side then the drivers side on my 3dr cossie? I’ve checked accident damage (none, all original) I’ve checked springs, shocks, hubs, rear arms and all seems fine. I did manage to find a thread with someone had the same issue on there saff but wondered if anyone can confirm this is a common issue.

I have the same on my saph on the front, drove me mad, me and two other mechanics at work had tape measures out multiple times. Found in the end my car had had a replacement front wing years ago and wasn't fitted 100% which was causing it

I’ve literally been through the whole car. Never had any major damage and original quarters. It’s very strange and driving me nuts 😩😂

I've heard of it before rich, but never heard of a answer to it. Just stick a spacer on one side

Is it front and rear on passenger side or just one of them? Not that I can help really but as gcfcos suggests maybe something hidden in the cars past..

I had this on my sapphire when i first bought it, turned out one of the wheels had a 5mm spacer fused to the back of it and it hadn't been noticed.

my audi s2 when I got it had 3x wheels with 35 offset and one that was something like 25 offset, made the car very tail happy worse than some bmw's i've seen. I only found out when I was selling the wheels.

I’ve not checked the wheels to be honest but there genuine 3dr alloys so cant see them being different. As mentioned the car has never had any serious damage as that was my first thought and checked everything in that respect so I know it’s nothing to do with that. I intend to strip the car and do a full resto so I’m hoping it will become apparent then.

Just spoken to my mate and totally forgot it wasn't the bloody wing that caused it lol, it was one of the track control arms! Someone had replaced one with an aftermarket and it was slightly longer than the other by a few mm, it was at least 10 years ago so memory was a bit off lol

Is it on the front or the rear where the wheels sits differently?

I know the wheels don't sit right in the arches on 3 door.

In fact after another chat we have seen it on another Sierra as well, we had one into our old
Work with the same problem and that was the track control arm again.

Maybe something is bent on the back? as gcfcos is saying, It’s like Martin’s van with the camber miles out from a dodgy hub, iirc he first noticed one wheel tucked in more than the other.

being a RWD car someone could of quite easily run out of talent and clipped a back wheel.

The beam or the arms could be bent. Or it can be that a rear arm has been replaced by a wrong one. Granada mk3 arms are almost the same, but put the wheel out by about 12 mm. The difference is in the surface where the bearing carrier bolts to, it is a lot thicker on a Granada arm.
