Default 2005 1.4 tdci fiesta non starter

Hi, i have the above fiesta which was running.....
decided to do a service, changed the fuel filter now wont start.
Seemed to be dragging in air, so changed the fuel lines and priming bulb, now seems a lot better, no air and bulb getting harder to press.
On trying to start the starter motor decided to pack in ( windings started to smoke). Changed the starter now cranks over. I used a tester which shows camshaft sensor and fuel pressure sensor and glow plug fault which were not present before the starter problem / filter change.
is there a link between the faults ? Maybe a relay blown due to the starter ?
I have checked all wiring and all plugs are connected etc
Please help before flustration gets the better of me and the hammer comes out !!!!

I had a fusion that had 0 faults was intermittent non-starter but ended up a complete non-starter had it in bits pump off checked wiring checked ecu sent to get checked only then did it throw faults only one I couldn’t clear was an egr fault unplugged the egr and boom away it went couldn’t believe… it on the other hand I did have issues with a Focus that didn’t like aftermarket filters only ran on genuine ford filters

Im still thinking its a problem caused by the starter blowing up....as it ran before this.....maybe theres a relay that connects the cam sensor / glow plugs and fuel pressure switch ??
have put original fuel filter back on so know its not that.
could be ecu related ?
