Series 1 rs turbo temp issue
I have a series 1 rs turbo, the temperature gauge does not get hot it just stays on the cold all the time, the coolant is getting hot though,
could anyone tell me what colour the wire is to the temp sensor? I’m also going to change the thermostat, where is this located?

There is only 1 wire to the temp gauge sensor on the front of the head next to the exhaust manifold.
If you earth that wire with the key on pos 2 your gauge should max out, don't keep it grounded too long though.
It might be a yellow wire, as smiley said been a while lol!

I had the same issue, changed the thermostat, despite several references to the pink/maroon colour the one that worked for me was yellow. But they do differ between cars.I tried different ones you can change the sensor without dropping the coolant , just need to be quick! Ensure to bleed the system properly, run the engine up to running temperature until the fan kicks in with the coolant cap off. Good luck
