water temp gauge issue :/
hi I have fitted a aftermarket temp gauge in my glove box along with oil temp and boost. both other gauges are spot on. i connected the water temp gauge to the temp sender off the head but I'm getting no reading although my original gauge does? I disconnected the oil temp sender and temp wired it to the water temp and the gauge works fine. but just not off the water temp sender. its new sender from msd so is the correct one. any help woyld be great 😊

hey. my gauges are there at present but will shortly be moving when I receive my 3d printed pod for them and custom radio/cubby hole fascia plate. if it was an earthing issue how would i ground that gauge as the original one still works ? sorry if sounding a but dumb :-

If you ground the wire up until the point before it connects to the sender and it works, then that is defiantly the problem.
Thus far you have connected to your oil sender, and I don't know if you used the same wiring to do so. If you did, then there is no point in proceeding further.
You need the correct sender in any event, so it's easier to do that.

cheers mate
well I cut in and crimped some bayonet connectors on the cables as entered the car so I was able to cross over the cables to check to see if the gauge was at fault. as said the temp read fine from the oil sender to the water temp gauge.
as you say the gauge wouldnt read correctly off the temp sender on the head. where do most people tap there sender into to give an accurate reading ?
