If you change to 2WD fanimold does that mean you have to change your downpipe to a 2WD one?
I've heard the 2WD manifolds are a pain to fit with the engine in, is this just because they are much bigger or because you need some decent shaped tools for the job?.....do they use the same studs as the 4x4?

The idea is you fit a damper when you have the 2wd manifold and 4x4 head combination, as the 4x4 head doesn't have the lug that a 2wd head has to run the std damper.
Why you'd want to run a damper on a 4x4 manifold is beyond me.

yep, won't have any effect on the cracking we are talking about here, that's purely temperature-induced

Mine is like that any any other 4x4 manifold I've seen. It isn't crack to the outside and it doesn't cause any problems.

CossieCrew - Was the person who sold you the cracked one called Andy perchance?
My manifold has a crack in it too, has had for at least 2 years, and doesnt cause any chew at all
You can have them welded up as well if needed.
Neil.

Have anyone used steel exhaust manifold in a Cosworth, do they generally give extra horsepower, and who makes them? Atleast in N/A engines steel manifolds gain quite a few bhp compared to the cast iron scrap.
