There are lots of companies that do importing for you, for a fee of course.
Just an example, not a recommendation; https://www.shipmycar.co.uk/importin...the-usa-to-uk/

If it's over 30 years old, no Import duty
Then depending what car it is, VAT at either 5% or 10% on the value of the car plus shipping.

Once here it'll need lighting conversions, sometimes minor, depends on what car it is and then MOT.

Be very careful buying from photos only, there are a lot of wrecks about that look shiney and good.
Even experienced dealer/ importers get caught out.

I imported a 1988 Mustang 19 years ago from Canada, Export / Import paperwork done by the seller.
I imported a 2014 Mustang last year from the USA using Ron Fenton at https://www.stsimports.co.uk/

I have a friend who does this on a monthly basis if you need any help or need a decent car sourcing.

After the duty is paid to HM customs to allow it to be released at the docks, the shipper should apply for a NOVA cert as proof the Vat has been paid.

When you register you need;
Application form and fee.
Nova Cert
Normally MOT cert, but 1969 is exempt but still needs to be of MOT standard, (Amber indicators front and rear) Rear Fog and side repeaters NOT required.
You don't need insurance to register it anymore.
