After the duty is paid to HM customs to allow it to be released at the docks, the shipper should apply for a NOVA cert as proof the Vat has been paid.

When you register you need;
Application form and fee.
Nova Cert
Normally MOT cert, but 1969 is exempt but still needs to be of MOT standard, (Amber indicators front and rear) Rear Fog and side repeaters NOT required.
You don't need insurance to register it anymore.
