on way home from work my 2009 1.8 tdci focus started to make a kind of whinning noise got home popped the bonnet and it was coming from the alternator , thought nothing of it , went out to shops got to asda car park and could smell like a kind of electrical
burning smell popped bonnet again and to my horror the alternator was smoking , I couldn't even put my hand on it , it was that hot ..anyway went to start engine and there was nothing at all , no electrics at all , nothing , called out breakdown service they said it was the alternator , ok I said so they dropped it off at formula one , its been there all day and they cant get it started either ..
