Default 3d cosworth hydraulic clutch problems

So I decided to do a hydraulic clutch conversion on my 3d cosworth but I'm having problems with the master cylinder getting hot by the exhaust and putting air in the system.

I have heat wrap the exhaust and and change the fluid 5.1 the fluid is stay cooler.

The master cylinder is a S2 land rover

Has anyone else have this problem with the conversion

Are you sure it is not holding air by not bleeding up, I would guess that the clutch would slip when hot as the fluid expands. Be careful as that fluid is very flammable.

Can you have the down pipe re made and re-routed?

It has been bleed up properly and works fine but as soon sits after a run it goes very soft and not clutch and the master cylinder is very warm but the fluid in the pot is cool

Not heard of anyone else having this issue, I have a hydraulic clutch on my race car with no issues and like you describe my only suggestion would be to replace the mc with one with a remote tank so it can be routed to the inner wing away from there heat as yours has the intergal tank.
I assume the bleed nipple on the slave is at the bottom like it should be?

Hi
It has a remote tank by the inner wing and yes the bleed nipple is by the slave cylinder.

I'm going to change the master cylinder and hopefully it will sort the problem out.

Also I want the lightest possible pedal like a normal car.

Yes , I have a one on my 3 door its set up like the ryland conversion. My master is a Girling .75 cylinder and the slave is a BMW E30 cylinder.
It dd run a smaller Master cylinder before @ .625 but this did not give it the travel needed so I changed it to the .75 and all works well.
I run an AP Organic clutch plate and cover so not the heaviest unit anyway but I a very worthwhile mod. It makes the pedal about 50% lighter, not quite as light as a modern car but only 15% diff.

Cheers.

Similar to my set up on my 2wd Saff but although the pedal is a lot lighter than it was with the cable operation, with a Helix 6 paddle clutch it is still not the same as a modern car. When I have been out in mine and I get back in my daily Renault Laguna Estate it feels like there is no resistance on the pedal at all!! Great conversion to do but don't expect your 34 year old Cossy to suddenly have a clutch that feels like a modern car.
