Default Paddle Clutch Shortage

Why is there a shortage of 2wd paddle clutches - everyone is out of stock at the moment.

Im also surpised that there are really only 2 manufacturers that are recommended now AP and Helix.

Im going to launch the car quite hard so an organic clutch simply wont take the abuse.

Try contacting them direct instead of going through a trader

Is it just a disc or entire kit you're after ?

TTV make clutches, I can't imagine it would be difficult for them to make you a new disc.

Although clutch disc thickness can vary, here are a selection of 1"x23 9.5" ( 240mm or thereabouts ) discs

TTV's road twin at 230mm could probably work, flywheel permitting. And as a twin should have no issue with launches even with organic.

Or I'm sure they could do a paddle style

If less than 400bhp would a 6 paddle ap plate with standard cover do the job?
I,m at 360 (dynod at msd) and it works perfect but i dont abuse it to much.

Are you still on the cable or gone hydraulic? If cable a heavy cover is gunna be a bitch in traffic etc.

Im aiming for 450bhp and still on cable at the moment. Its not a daily so not too worried about driving in traffic.

@Stevieturbo - cheers for the offer mate - its appreciated but im 2wd. Will contact TTV but are they any good as not heard of them before and typically you dont hear many cossie owners running these as we are like sheep lol

There's an email and they're on FB.

A friend had them make a new flywheel about 3-4 years ago, and both service and end product was excellent. Although I did hear around the same time they preferred to deal with dealers, rather that direct to customers. We did make initial contact via Powermax though.
That was before they started offering clutches though, which the more product they offer sooner or later they will need to communicate easier.

Powermax in Cookstown ( local to me ) are definitely a dealer and I know they've done some custom clutches for them, they'd also be familiar with Sierras, so they would be worth a shout
I did see their clutches at autosport a couple of years ago, and they seemed perfectly fine. ( Link below for phone number, I know there's no pictures.

Or give Euan at Clarke Motorsport a shout, Xtreme offer a clutch for a Sierra although it probably isnt stocked here.

KFD24019-1B, sprung paddle rater for 480lbft

And this price cant be real lol

Between Burtons and their AP catalogue...it does seem 2wd and 4wd are the same, with only the release bearing being different.

https://view.publitas.com/burtonpowe...pages/page/108

But all individual parts for each clutch item...are the same part number 2wd or 4wd, except the release bearing.

Kit is CP2015-10 I have.

lol...been sitting in my garage since 2007 ( old photo I found )

Photo shows individual part numbers. No pic of the release part number but seems it's a £20 part either way.

I'll speak to my mate, but I'd assume that would be no problem....I really don't imagine he's going to use it after all this time as he hasnt had the car it was bought for for about 9 years.
