I,ve just put an Alcon 6 paddle in my Cossie with a standard Ford cover. The Standard cover stops the pedal getting too hard. It is a bit harder to pull away sensibly i.e under 1500RPM like i used too with the Standard clutch but its not to bad.......mind you, if you,d seen me launching my way round the McDonals Drive In the other night you might not agree. It does get a bit juddry if you have to queue

If you buy an uprated clutch kit it will probably comprise of an uprated plate, uprated cover and a standard Ford release bearing. This combination will make the pedal harder and make driving the car harder in normal road use. However if you use a new standard Ford cover you wont have to have a left leg like Popeyes ( Thats the Cartoon Sailor Man not the one off this board by the way ) I bought a Paddle plate and a complete clutch kit from Fords and binned the new Ford plate ( Ford wont sell you a cover on its own but i think woodfords will sell you my combination as a kit. I hope i haven,t confussed you even more now

i have an alcon 6 paddle plate in an ap racing cover, judders like a mofo and as its low comp with large cams needs more than a few rpm to set off so all in all it aint a car to be used in traffic every coont looks at you gone out as it looks like your giving it beans for the sake of it

They are bad news IMO mate. Pain in the ass in traffic. When driving around town u have 2 options :-

1). Pull away with low revs (1000-1200) and judder like hell when it bites slowly damaging engine mounts and stressing gearbox.

2). Use higher revs (1500-2000) and slip for a smoother pull away but wear out paddle / cover . flyheel much quicker - most people report they have a life of about 5K, tho mine is getting on for 7-8 now as I chose option (1) as my box is slowly dieing anyway.

I shall not be getting another, organic for me next time - dont care about launching, just need it to hold in 3rd as i have 240 lb torque now.
