Default Mk3 2002 Mondeo tdci a.c. not switching off

Hi guys it' been several years since I last posted lol. But my none climate controlled mk3 mondeo the a.c. will not shut off the button lights up and turns off but the fan and compressor continue to run even with the fan set to zero. Compressor kicks on and off but won' stay off any ideas tia

I do not know how similar it is to the older system in the Sierra but I had that exact problem and it turned out to be a short in the de-icing switch.

Are you heater controls pointing to the windscreen so that the heated will blow air and the screen??

Wow didn' realise it was that long lol. Nope the button is switched off pulled all the fuses and it' still running lol and nope I know of it auto on if you turn to windscreen. It' puzzling can' even find a plug that goes on compressor to disconnct it that was

It is a getting a feed from somewhere.

Check the loom by the drivers strut mount area, they can chaff brought around there and do weird things.

Ian that what was wrong with my air con fault. The wiring loom had rubbed through.

Sorted disconnected battery overnight seems to have done the trick 🤔

Sounds asif a relay has been stuck in and by disconnecting the battery it’s aloud it to unstick
