Default Coolant system refill

Finally got around to draining the coolant out so I can replace all the blue silicone hoses with the o/e matt items.

Drained down no issue's, flushed out till running clear.

New pink/red oat antifreeze at the ready......

What's best practice for refilling.....

fill up till I have fluid staying in the header tank,
start it up,
keep topping up till a good level in the H/T,
do I put the cap on at this point till the fans kick in??
Or leave it off and wait for it to start bubbling??

do the heaters want to be on at all during this??
check all hoses are hot, top up H/T ??

any bleed screws in the system to vent air??

Probably basic stuff to most of you but I want to get it rite as best I can.

cheers

Have always just filled mine up to max then let it run to circulate for a bit with cap off and then top up as necessary.

Fill system from empty by removing small pipe on side of thermo housing once coolant runs from there refit and fill. Run with cap off and check.

4x4 does have a bleed screw on top of the thermostat housing.

I personally just fill up until at the correct level then just top up for the small loss after it's been run.
