Default Escort RS Turbo MTX Driveshafts

I am looking for some advice from those that have carried out the MTX75 gearbox conversion on the Escort RS Turbo.

I have fitted a 2.0 zetec and focus RS gearbox to my car and I am looking to get driveshafts made to suit. What companies can do this?

I have carried out a search on here but the previous recommendations are out of date and do not sell these parts individually any more.

Any pics?

Cheers for the replies. For people that may be carrying out this conversion Crazycage has stopped doing driveshafts and OddKidd will only sell me them if I pay for him to do the full conversion (gearbox, clutch linkage , mounts etc ) and fitting. He won’t sell then separately.

I will give Norris a call 👍

I have fitted a blacktop zetec with the ST170 head. I will try and upload some pictures, they aren’t the best though.

I’m using a RS1600i ARB instead of the S2 one.

It's easy to measure how long you need them, so any engineering firm near you could then re join them

reco-prop in luton were always recommended for this sort of work years ago, try giving them a shout!

http://www.reco-prop.com/drive.htm

edited to say that the company seems to have been dissolved in 2016. google links a different website to their company now though:

http://baileymorris.co.uk/

seems that they mostly do props, but may be able to help you out with driveshafts possibly?

What issues are you having with the ARB? Mine has the standard S2 ARB set up with no problems. FRS box with Blacktop/ST170 turbo engine.

Yeah man, got it running in January, put it on the road again in March.

Just the speedo to finish and the conversion is done, I'm hoping mine will be the first Escort with FRS box that retains its original speedo.

My mate is just finishing a speedo control that takes the signal from the FRS gearbox speed sensor and then controls the Escort speedo, its in final stages of build then we just need to fit and calibrate it. Finding the spare time for the car at the minute is the real challenge.

Why?
My problem is the silvertop... no spare cash to build a blacktop

Do you have any pics?

My gearbox and engine sit on custom mounts, not the modded CVH mounts so the engine sits at more of an angle towards to the front of the car just like it does in a Focus...its the same conversion that crazycage offered...ARB fits, but when the car is lowered onto its wheels, the ARB sits on the gearbox on that side

These guys just made me a pair of shorter Cosworth 2WD rear drive shafts, good for at least 600 lbsft. Hardened and tempered aircraft grade steel.

Is this any help? I will be underneath the car in the next week or so for any pics from underneath.
