Default Anyone know a LOT about MTX driveshafts?

Long shot but...

Anyone know what/if there are different size driveshaft diameters for Mondeos with MTX boxes? As mine seem to be smaller than the normal 2.0 items.

I have a set of custom driveshafts which I've been told are Mondeo inners with Fiesta outers. I am after the spider bearing/3 point knuckle that slides on to the splines for the inner CV joint, but tried 2 sets of Mondeo driveshafts and no luck - they are too big. Tried a set of a IB5 box and the splines are wrong.

Any way of getting pics or more detail of what spider bearings come with what box?

Cheers!

Interesting thats what I need to know!

Heard that the V6/diesel ones are different but I assume they would be bigger being heavier duty.

for all the transits and connects we've got, they ALWAYS send the wonrg shafts when they need doing, even though the computer says they ar the right ones for the vehicle

and there are quite a few different variations of that inner spider, but i can't remember who else was having serious issues with getting one a while back wihtout having to buy new shafts to find out if they were right or not

My shafts were Focus TD ones. The cups are smaller than Mondeo ones. I reckon those are what you need.

Cheers! Ill give you a call later on when I get back from the garage.

Ive counted I need a spider with 30 splines, where as the 2.0 Mondeo ones I have here are bigger and are 24 spline if that makes helps at all?

Cheers again

that's the outer joint in this pic which uses more balls as it's got more angle to work through

the inner ones simply slot in on the end of the shaft and sit inside the inner cv like so
