Hi ppl, just bought a cossie rep MK5 and i'd like to put a match to the existing 1.6 8v(carb!!!) and get hold of prob a donor S2RST for a fat transplant job.

Any idea what sort of cost would some boggo garage charge me to do it as I don't have the time myself(or prob the right tools lol).

I know it's like how long is a piece of string but I really haven't got a clue and would like to know a rough estimate so I can budget for it.

Also is the RST gearbox useable in the MK5 bay...i'm pretty clueless soz but I know lots of you have probably done this conversion before so i'd be grateful for any info etc.

PS plz help quick as i'd just sold my cabby RST and am now suffering major withdrawl symptoms with no dump valve noise!!!!

 

mk5 box is different to the s2 box but the s1 box will fit. ull need the s1 clutch i think.

cost of doner car then stupid rates from the garage no doubt.
