i ran a standard clutch [pattern one at that] stage bhp for ages years ago it gave no issues at all and took lots abuse-so probs not far off,i would rather a normal disc than a paddle for feel if at all possible
My ZT has a Alcon 6 paddle and a standard LUK cover, copes mint at 14.5psi
When out mapping it was just starting to slip a bit coming on boost in 5th at 18psi so we backed the boost off as its plenty quick enough.

I ran a 6 paddle Alcon with a standard cover worked very well but difficult take up and judder unless you got the reves just right
It tends to score the flywheel up quite badly though so it will need a skim if you want to go back to a normal disc type at any stage
Be good for a track omly car
Cheers Tim.

A fully race 4 paddle is very juddery yes. My S1 RST with a Helix 4 paddle is just horrible on the road. I have got used to it but I do have to think when changing gear. Changing gear like a normal car will result in the car stalling or a very harsh and unforgiving change, almost as if you will break something. Yes it does judder on the biting point. My friends refuse to drive the car or even move it!
I drove this year an S1 that allegedly was running a 4 paddle clutch with a stock cover. It did have a little judder yes, but it was minimal, certainly far far less than a 4 paddle or even a cheap clutch kit! It's how I plan to go with RST when the gearbox is pulled out.

im rely undecided now, im not going to use the car much i wouldn't have thought the odd meet and show and i doubt it'll ever make more that 200bhp
a friend is selling the ap 4 paddel cheap thats the main reason im considering it, but i have herd good things about the ap organic range,
are there any other options apart from ap and alcon?

If I was debating power increased around the 200BHP I'd probably do a stock clutch cover with a 4 paddle centre. But there is a question mark over longevity.
Otherwise one of the AP fast road items should do the trick like the AP2000-8 and AP2008-35 but you will then also need to change the quadrant due to the increased clutch plate pressure on the centre disc.
How cheap is the AP and how worn is it? I shall be honest. One of the reasons I planning to go with a stock cover and Helix 4 paddle is down to power handling and cost.
I believe that variety are best avoided. One of the brands seems to have a failure rate behind it. You don't get something for nothing.

Looking more and more like the 4 paddle is my best option price/power wise
I've just bought a 4 paddle an standard clutch cover for my s1, alot of people I know with turbos run that an they say good things. But im also converting it to hydraulic too, so will be even nicer.

You can get 2 differant types of paddle plates, sprung and unsprung
The unsprung plates give a lot more judder than a sprung plate as they are designed more for motorsport use
