Default Focus mk1.5 Impact sensor

Can anybody help me out with the location of the impact sensor in the mk1.5 focus.
My airbag light is on and giving a code of 42 which is front impact sensor mounting fault.

I thought the sensor was below the front badge/lock, but no sign of it.

Thanks
Matt

As far as i am aware it is under the front slam panel, under the plastic trim. I have this job to do also on a 2003 mk1.5 focus. Again i haven't got round to it yet. Did you manage to gain any more information?

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

Bit late to answer I think... But Yes, I found the sensor and replaced it. All fine now, no blinking lights.

It's indeed at the underside of the front slam-panel. Only 1 bolt holding it in place and I managed to get it out without removing the radiator or anything else!

If you still have to do this: good luck, it only a couple of minutes. Oh, I disconnected the battery and waited som 15 minutes before I started.

Regards,

Thanks for the reply, I will have another look today. I couldn't see anything or any wiring there though.

Cheers

You have to drop the radiator to get at it easily.it is on the bottom of the slam panel.
