Default Civic type r V focus St 225

Rite guys in having a bit of a dilemma just sold my mk1 frs and looking two replace it.
The two cars I have short listed are the civic type r fn2 or a focus St, now I have been looking at reviews but I need to get people's reactions who have owned them.

The civic is fat, overweight and under powered. I had a megane 225 trophy and pissed all over one. You'll be disappointed going from a mk1 frs to a civic type r.

FN2 Civic Type R isn't a patch on the earlier car, a very poor replacement.

Personally would avoid the Megane like the plague as although it's arguably quick and with a decent chassis I know a couple of people who have had no end of problems with theirs. Might just be bad luck that the only 2 people I know that have had them have suffered but it's enough for me to be steering clear

That's why I got rid of mine after the warranty ran out it was a great car though, the chassis is amazing and very chuckable. But I've got a feeling they haven't aged well like all Renaults.

I have had turbo cars for years now so was a bit apprehensive to buy an na but some people I spoke to really rate the civic but was unsure if they were just biast or not.
I'm looking at the facelift St but they still command good money.

I test drove an '09 plate Civic Type R a couple of years back and although it was overall a nice enough car, I was so disappointed with the performance of it! I just thought 'is that it?!'! Lol!

I've got an '06 plate Civic 2.2 diesel as my daily and that would have a Type R's pants down IMO.

So for me, I would be going for the ST

Agree on the 2.2 my mates mum had one and she let us borrow it to go pick up my mates new car. On the way back my mate decided he would try his new gti out against a type r! I was driving the 2.2 derv civic and was all over the back of my mates gti who was all over the type r!

ST

The FN2 is a poor replacement to the much more raw EP3, but these cars are about screaming the engine and NOT about any sense of boost as there isn't any and ignore all talk of Vtec kicking in, yes like a soft blip with zero KICK.

I have had an EP3 and they are great cars and fun but are not going to be your bag if you like the sensation of being pinned into your seat as the boost launches you down the road.

My mate has an FN2 Type R and IMO the ride quality is just unbearable - hard a a rock.

I had my Orange ST for quite a while and sold it to a mate. I'd have it back in a heartbeat - great car.

Take a look at the DC5. I had one 7 years ago and replaced it with a St for 6 years now back to a DC5.
The DC5 is either all out attack mode and it's very fast for so little hp/tq or drive it like a granny and gives very good mpg.
The St would tear it's tyres apart at any time with so much tq so a really good car for all round use as long as you don't mind the bad mpg.
