Default Tiptop exhaust, b'ham, AVOID

Basically went there today, my partner dropped his car off, he needed an exhaust fitting, so the man told us to come back in an hour, so we come back in a hour to find the car covered with dirt, the man tells us to hook the car up(as it was being towed) and to leave, he didn't ask for his money yet which is a bit wierd, just kept saying back your car up to hook it to the other car, so anyway as I said it was covered with dirt which was not on there when we dropped it off, so my partner started rubbing it off, only to find they had broke the bumper and tried to hide it!!!! It was cracked in numerous places , there was yellow paint on the bumper (the car is white) , the number plate was bent and stuck on with double sides sticky tape, so it's blatantly OBVIOUS they had done something like take it for a spin or bumped into something on there premises, so we must of been arguing for about half hour now and the man kept saying take the car and keep the money and f*** off, he must of said it about 10 times, he denied it to the max that the car had NOT moved off the ramp, so I walked into the garage only to find the exact same tape which had been used to stick everything back on, so this horrible witch come over snatched it off me and told me to get out, I obvs didn't , me and her was arguing she called me a tramp and a chav (must of been the trainers lol) but don't know where she got tramp from! She was caked with makeup and had no morals, so while all this is happening my 11 month son was crying in the car , I grabbed him out, the woman then said that my son looks cold and he isn't wearing a coat , when it wasn't cold and wasn't raining, but he had a blanket round him, she then said he looked ILL ! I did lose my rag at that point I couldn't believe it, my son saw a health visitor a few days before and she said he's happy and healthy and also said he's gorgeous, so I'd love to know where she got that from , so my partner and the bloke are still arguing, but then the truth comes out! Only part of it... He admitted that the car did come off the ramp and went back on, then the man noticed the number plate and something else next to is was hanging off so out of his generosity he taped it back on lol, so ermmmm what else is he lying about ! I think you get the drift ... A terrible place to go and definitely wouldn't recommend going there because they will wreck your car and you will get the blame like we did !! The people talk to you like crap and are an absolute disgrace, I don't know how they sleep at night, extremely poor service, and they didn't get there money, they need to be paying us for the cost of a new bumper which is going to happen as I'm going to take this to court, revenge is sweet.

Obviously guilty of damaging your partners car if they weren't going to charge you for an exhaust.

I've used them once for a landrover exhaust never again there welding and fabrication is awful and there attitude is even worse

The exhaust they did for me had about 10 or 12 sections of pipe welded in and was blowing from every joint it looked like they used all the off cuts off all the other exhaust they had done

Is this a joke? How is that place still in business???

I'm as laid back as a deck chair but if I was spoke to like that by someone who was supposed to be fixing my car but instead damaged it, I'd have gone mental, I would have made sure I didn't leave without making sure their workshop was empty of customers first! I would have shouted to anyone else waiting look what they did etc etc. Need to get that Dom guy from Rogue Traders onto it

Keep us updated with what happens, hope you get the car sorted free of charge too.

why did they not just admit they have had a problem, bad news spreads quicker than good news definitely not good for business...... there seems to be a lot of reviews on this company, more bad than good ..........situations like these can be very upsetting, a public slagging match is no good for anyone

That's awful, I mean how on earth would all that shŁt thrown on the car cover anything up, nobody's car would be that dirty on the front unless it hadn't been cleaned for 2 years I can't believe how they could do all that damage and just deny anything happened!

If I were you I'd print some pictures off from before and after, if you don't have a printer go to the local library etc don't clean it or try to fix it, leave it like that until they pay up

Take it to Trading Standards and see what they've got to say. Maybe inform the place before you do say and they might change their tune.

Shocking! As above take it to trading standards, service like that just isn't acceptable, and get some more ammo for your case, someone above posted that they have plenty of bad reviews. Let us know how it all goes.

A quick Google search comes up with some terrible reviews for Tip Top:

https://passionford.com/forum/genera...ink-pic-s.html

http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/...eware-t165505/

I'd steer well clear in the future there are much better exhaust fabricators in and around Birmingham.

I went there two years ago with the mk2 and they tried to quote a system for it at Ł400+ same cost as they do for an st220, I asked some simple fabrication questions regarding they're welding methods and tubing they use, which they could not answer. Very bad attitude, poor customer service avoid at all cost.

In future I will always use MIJ performance, its a little further to travel but the lads there are great, always done an excellent job, reasonable price and happy to make you a cup of tea and give free advice when you need it.

There are some shockingly bad reviews and horror stories online regarding MIJ too.

I'd like to add that I've never had any dealings with them and not my views, but if I based my thoughts on a Google search on them if I was thinking of using them, I would definitely be put off.

Doesn't matter what car it is, the fact that their lying to your face about something they've blatantly done to your car which is going to cost more to replace than a bit of exhaust! Why does it matter if it's a corsa or not ? That's besides the point the staffs attitude there STINK

I'd agree Ran haha!

But Torque Flow are the only place in the area I've ever used personally and I couldn't fault them to be fair. Exhaust was beautifully made and it was only one bloke renting ramp space within a Mercedes specialists large workshop and he seemed pretty clued up to be fair.

And that was an exhaust for my old Mercedes Sprinter recovery truck of all things. A de-cat and re-map transformed that into something pretty special.

I got them via a Google search and couldn't find a bad word about them, although that was a few years ago now and that was how I read of poor reviews for MIJ.

If you want an awesome exhaust system then you can't beat Dyno Torque in Tysley Birmingham:

Here's my 4" downpipe then stepped down to 3.5" for the rest of system, I'll dig out some photo's it's a work of art.

Was there much of a benefit to having it built in that way? I only ask it looks like it starts at 3.5" at the turbo end then opens up then gets smaller again?

Turbo end is 3" then opens up to 4" then back down to 3.5" for the remainder of the system.
It's done to aid spool, having a large down pipe give you a better flow of gases especially when you pumping 2.8 bar out of the turbo

Here's abit of a thread about it:
