Default 1/18 wheels needed - anyone make comp TH's please?

Hi Guys,

I am wondering about making a replica of my rs 500 based on 1/18 scale models and now have an auto art 3 door sierra. A quick search shows that some Compomotive rally and gravel wheels are around - or similar Oz ones of the escort rally cars. Can these be bought or made up by anyone?

Just for reference, these are the wheels I want to match too - and any ideas or help welcome

Your best bet is too buy an ecsoc with the those wheels on. 3 different ones had them and then sell model.
I have had to buy 3 models to get all the wheels to build my reps

Yea they pretty much just popped off with a screwdriver in behind them. I was thinking to buy a spoiler for it and paint it imperial blue..

The Focus and 307 WRC models came with smaller diameter versions, although 5-stud. They are easier and cheaper to get hold of though.

I waited for ages to find a larger set from an Escort Cosworth and eventually bought a whole model in used condition just like the one above for cheap, so they are out there.

By smaller diameter - do you mean equivalent to 16 inch opposed to 17??

Thanks for this - really helpful info

Yes, which I'm guessing may help you if you're trying to build an exact replica of that 3-door above.

I bought one of these models for £8 ages ago for the wheels http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUNSTAR-46...item339b9d0949

I thought I had a picture of them on one of my 3-door models but can't seem to find it. I can take a pic of what they look like later if you want? Or to give you an idea I've got a bad pic of them on a Mk3 Escort, which I reckon makes them around 16/17-inch.

I bought a set of Uli Nowak wheels recently, 16" BBS Y in gold. Fantastic quality & will be perfect on my Reiger Escort F40.

Apart from the 5 holes they look darned close to me!! I've seen these on other models now too - spending hours on ebay etc!!!

Thanks, just bought a focus model 1/18 by hot wheels would you believe? It appears to have a kinda diorama with 3 spare wheels as well?

Wonder how it will look in the flesh though?

Will keep you all posted and thanks for all the help coming in

I know the guys on modelmotorvation used to make the Comp TH style wheels. May be worth a try if you've not had any luck.

Get a very sharp knife blade and pop the centre cap off, just like a real 3 Door centre.
Behind that there is a tiny screw, undo that and the wheel comes off with no damage.
