Default Mk3 Fiesta 2.0 Zetec Conversion

Evening all,

I have been on the forum a while but yet to post as usually a regular on ZSOC but as i believe i have most of the knowledge i need on the Mk4/5 to rebuild and maintain my mk4 it was about time i became more active in regards to my Mk3.

I have 2 Mk3 fiestas one which is a 1993 "K" Mk3 1.1 8v and a 1995 "M" Mk3.5 1.6 16v Zetec.

The plan is to make a 2.0 Mk3 Zetec out of the 2. I know the Zetec is the correct looms to run a Mondeo 2.0 zebec lump but after reading many threads i found there isn't a massive amount of information to go on and a lot of it is basically winging it.

For example i have read that the floor pans between the 3 and the 3.5 are different all the rest i found here http://fiestamk3parts.com/guides/use.../mk3-vs-mk3-5/

But no mention of the engine mounts my cars are geographically 30miles apart and worse still 45mins drive so I'm trying to gain as much knowledge from home as i can.

So i know i need:
2.0 Mondeo Zetec Silvertop
Desk/Dewy/Deep ECU - Very hard to find
New 1.6 water pump as they spin a different way.
130 spec inlet so its not restricted by the 1.6 inlet although would run

After that i am at a loss. I know i can run nearly all my 1.6 zetec auxiliaries to get it running as it should.

Any input would be greatly welcomed. Pics below of the 2 cars. Im going to remove all the rot and paint it so new rear arches sills and wings. Add some XR2i/RST Bumpers and skirts and she will be some where near where i want after the engine is fitted.

Andy

That's annoying, I read the first post thinking "I've got most things he'll need!" And then, yeah..

They're pokey with a 2.0 in them

Edit to say:
What are you doing suspension and brake wise? Fiesta ST are a good upgrade on the brakes if you don't have the wheels to house the 300mm ST170 discs.

I bet i can't wait for it all to start. Nothing will be done yet as I'm going to get my shell solid first. Lucky enough its not a complete rot box, its only covered 50k.

Anything I'm blatantly missing from the conversion i thought id be somewhere near with all that i have. Buying the 1.6 Si for Ł140 was probably the best idea of the project in my opinion.

Suspension wise standard shocks lowered 60mm i don't want coilovers will be too harsh theres new shocks old stock on eBay for like a tenner so going to go with that.

Brake wise will be mk3 mondeo calipers, i can pick these up for Ł10 a side, ill run them with st170 discs and some form of generic brake pads more than likely pagid.

Wheel wise ill be running either 16" mondies or 16" ST24s all of which are in stock lol.

Edit: What parts you got knocking about may have a home for some of it

Why aren't you using the 3.5 shell as a base?

More holes than a swiss cheese. Also theres not a straight panel on it. The mk3 has 50k on the clock and very little rot
