Why don't you take your car to a tuner? Your timing will change when rpms change. Nobody knows exact what is in the chip except for the maker and real tuners. You should start low and increase advance till close to det. But tuners can help you with it!

use ford standard factory base ignition settings the ignition curve is mapped up to 18psi where it has a boost protection limit
it is for a std comp engine
boost is mapped using the standard amal valve and a garret -31 actuator
boost is 16 psi
you have to make sure all the rest of your 25 year old car is working correctly

Still to check if all systems are working fine i would still suggest a tuner. Also to gain max best idea is a tuner. He can go for a milder set up and it will work. If a tuner doesn't know how to handle a old car go on to the next one. They are tuners they understand engines. If they can't figure it out or tell you they can't do it they probably also suck at their current tuning.

Engines work on the same principle there has to be a tuner around that can help you. Belgium? Germany? Its not bad to drive a few hours for a good tune
