Default Head gasket problems

So did my weekly fluid checks yesterday morning and noticed the oil level was high and coolant was almost none existent so this set alarm bells ringing. I took off the oil filler cap to be greeted by a load of mayo and I mean a lot. Also the car has had a miss fire for the last week.

Anyway I have removed the cylinder head and can't see any obvious signs of it failing on block head or the gasket itself although it did look ancient. Is there anywhere in paticular I should look? Could it be related to the factory oil cooler set up?

Any advice would be massively appreciated cheers

If the oil cooler has rotted through then oil and water will mix yes, but it shouldn't cause a misfire.
My advice would be change the head gasket as planed and take a look at your oil cooler, pressurise it with water and see if it enters the oil side.

Cheers lads, had head tested and was all good checked the block and seemed fine cleaned and reassembled everything bypassed the oil cooler flushed engine and topped up everything and it'd still mixing oil and water badly so now I'm thinking the block is buggered.

Also it's missing badly now, I removed the brand new 071c plugs and 12 and 4 are spot on but 3 is a rusty brown colour
