Default Ford Puma Engine Problems

Right so some of you may already know i have fitted a puma 1.7 engine to my MK4 fiesta but i decided to remove the engine and clean it up (JET IT OFF) and now after re assembling i have serious problem, it initially started and ran like a jem for about 10 seconds then it cut out, and now after stripping down the inlet and exhaust manifold it keeps firing out of the inlet manifold, i have not messed at all with the timing so im very confused as to what it could be, i had it OBD checked and nothing came up, any ideas?

I guess you have checked you have all sensors are plugged in correctly and not mixed any up?
I cant really remember the sensor layout of my old puma tho to suggest any that could possibly happen to.

Disconnect as many plugs as you can and check for water. Water around the spark plugs too.

Firing at the wrong time sounds like ht leads on the wrong plugs as said above. Other than that there's nothing that could make it fire out of the inlet, as the vale would be closed.

This is exactly what i thought but i have had them off and changed them over cleaned them, there 100% on the correct way, Googled it and the corresponding numbers on the leads match up,

If it's firing out of the inlet it can only be timing surely? Is the crank pulley on properly?

The only sensors i can think of that would effect timing are the crank and cam position sensors.
And having the ht leads on the correct way on the coil pack, and on the correct plug.

With the FRP cams is it just a simple swap over?

Up to a point. The exhaust cam needs to be retarded for 4 degrees IIRC and you need a special tool for that
