Default Pad cleaning on da polisher

Ok, just purchased a das-6 da polisher and my question is, how do you go about cleaning the pads and how often during the process of polishing your car do you clean them? There is loads of things on the internet about techniques on how to polish your car but not many idiot guides for people like me on how to clean the pads and how often. Any real world advice from you guys would be great, thanks👍

You would use that after doing 2 or 3 passes on the car then? What does it actually do? I can't see how that actually cleans the pad?

Follow this guide as you cant go wrong.

Make sure you prime the pad prior to your polishing set , you wont need to clean for quite a while but basically its something you pick up as you go along.
Definately look at that link and stick the kettle on.

You need a pad washer bucket, fill it 3/4 full of water open the sides, place the machine with pad on the wheels inside and run the machine

That looks awesome, may have to invest!! How often during polishing your car should you clean the pad though? For eg, would you polish quarter of the car, clean pad, polish another quarter, clean pad, etc etc??

You can clean it after each set, or just clean it when it start to look a bit glogged with polish

When you say each set are you referring to doing the whole car with a harsher polish/pad combo then a softer pad/finishing polish etc?

Best way is to just check the pad regular and clean when it looks a little glogged up,compounds tend to glog the pad up quicker than say a finer finishing polish etc.

You will see when your doing it.

Default Pad cleaning on da polisher

All pads have a performance cycle, meaning you will get the desired results only to a certain point on that curve. The point of declining performance is typically reached by polish / compound pad being overloaded with product; you should always be able to see the individual cells or texture of the pad, with proper, regular cleaning pad overload can be avoided.
