Default Mot issues, car runs like a bag of pooh!

Basically my cars almost ready for a mot, but it runs like a bag of pooh! Over fuelling really bad, it wets the plugs when u first start it sometimes. It's a new engine, new sensors etc, fuel pressure set as per manual, what can I do to get it running half decent to mot it? I know I can adjust the pot on the ecu but what do I go to? It also has a new throttle body how do u set this up? At this rate I won't get it to the mot station and there's no where around here to look at it to get it running decent. I'm fed up of playing about with it, it's worst than my old Capri was with a 2.1 pinto and twin 45's! It's running wasted spark by the way, any advice be great!

Have you looked at the regulator and its pipe to the inlet ?
Pull vacuum pipe off at idle and check for any fuel for a minute or 2 just to make sure .

As it's a new engine with all new parts fitted how about getting it all mapped and set up nicely before mot'ing it?
That way once it's tested and passed your ready to go.
Surely your gonna want it set up anyways going by your resto thread?
Look forward to seeing it on the road

Cheers Paul

Iv fitted a gauge and set the fuel pressure at idle so that's spot on, the engine has done 0 miles so need to run it in before I get it mapped, the way it's going il need to get it set up to run it in! All sensors are new so all it can be really is the pot on the ecu needs adjusting ? Or possibly the chip, but this was running spot on in a different car with identical spec? It also has a new throttle body that I havnt set up
Yet but can't see this causing the poor running?

Have you aligned the TPS correctly on your new TB?

Yeah, I undid the bolts and let it find its position, then tightened the bolts as per workshop manual. It's an rs500 throttle body with the by pass to the elbow, not sure if that makes any difference.
