VIC checks
Hi guys
I've bought a e46 convertible off a friend it's a cat d from the insurance company and it needs a vic check. It's literally a small dent in rear quarter and bumpers cracked! I've got some questions.
I've read that they don't actually look at work they just check the identity is this correct?
Can I drive the car until the vic check?
I know I can't tax the motor until a vic checks done it dosent need taxing till June anyway.
Any help would be much appreciated
Cheers Andy

Nope they don't check the work carried out just make sure the car is what it's supposed to be and all the numbers match up. Went with my fiesta a few years ago and taking another car for one next week traders take cars there mid repair so it's ready to go by the timetable repairs are done. The actual test only takes about 10 mins

Same as normal, just fill in your details either on the green slip if you got it or by a v62(???) form, send in your £25 if you don't have the green slip there's no need to mention anything.
Also Vic (which is irrelevant to cat d) is VEHICLE IDENTITY CHECK and does no checks on vehicle condition.
Also not all cat C's require a VIC, it's up to the DVLA.
