Default 1.8 TDDI Flat, No Power

Hi everyone,

Purchased a 2000 1.8 TDDI and it appears be very flat and has no power at all. It is completely flat throughout the entire rev range and no turbo kick. I timed a 0-60 at almost 20 seconds! Slows down when going up a hill on the motorway.

I have looked under the bonnet and no obvious splits or broken pipes, turbo does appear to be working. I have tried cleaning MAF, Air Temp sensors and intercooler with no change.

I'm thinking this is electrical since there are moments when the car surges forward and performs as it should and other times when its so bad I have my foot to the floor and won't even move or rev at all.

When looking through the service history it has had the electronic accelerator replaced a few months back, could it potentially be this that has broken again?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

Are the pipes swelling up on boost?

Also check the wires on the boost sensor on the left had side of the intercooler.

EML Light on ?
