CAN I RUN A S2 ECU ON MY S1 WANT A CHIPED ECU AND THERE IS A FEW ON EBAY BUT THEY SEEM 2 BE S2 CHEERS

 

Dont think you can as series 2 has a knock sensor an series 1 aint i no you can use series 1 ecu on a series 2 but not other way round

 

If you can wait a while I have a series 1 chipped ecu on my series 2 and would prefer a series 2 ecu.When I find one I could give you a shout.I got told its a 225 brake chip and its got red/blue/red (or the other way round) markings.I had to disconnect my knock sensor to use it.Not totally happy about that.

 

thought it was the other way round as the series one does not have knock sensor

 

If u have a series one, u should only run a series one ecu, blue red blue. the series one doesent have a knock sensor, and the blue red blue doesent run one either, the series two does run them, and there a pain in the arse, they break down, the knock senser plays up, u carnt disconect it cos then it retards the ignition. my series two had problems karl norris called it the fucked rsturbo syndrome, but he told me to put a series one blue red blue, and now its sound. blue red blue is the way to go son,

 

im using a 90 spec s2 ecu on my s1
no problems running at all
s1 loom and no knock sensor

 

i dont think the early s2 had a knock sensor so nigel b may be using a early s2 ecu

 

I had to disconnect the knock sensor and its run fine with a series 1 chipped ecu.

 

ive got the latest s2 ecu hearts/diamonds maybe
knock sensor used to be used when it was in the s2 but as i havent got one on the s1 i cant use it

 

what brake horse is the chip nige?
