just read a thread with comments by rsmat and his profile thingy says BANNED. i thought he was part of pf folklore.
if this is a need to know basis, i need!

Not too clued up on what happend later on yesterday, but I read a thread earlier in the day that had a comments which could be interpreted as threats, so not surprised he was banned. Not sure if it was permanent or not.

 

I like Mat, great bloke and always there to help, parts etc etc.

Yes he's hot headed, and can get a little aggressive on here but haven't we all?

 

He got a bit caught up in the moment in a thread on here and might have said some stuff that was threatening.its only the Internet so don't see why he was banned.although unless he did actually go round and see tony at turbosystems for infracting him

If it was for some thing said off this sight then it's well out of order and un called for I'd even go as far as saying miss use of power from who ever banned him in my opinion!

 

It's something he said on Facebook and its perminant ban.

 

Completely bang out of order if it was not on here then its not right we have freedom of speech or so i thought!

 

Im sure the mods havent take the decision lightly, as Im sure they are aware what a helpful and active member Matt is on here, but if it was a threat then they obviously had to act wherever it was delivered.

But I also know they will take the time to review bans if the user lodges an appeal, so I hope Matt has calmed down and enters into a grownup discussion with them and can be allowed back on.

Just cause its a "permanent ban" doesnt mean it will stay as one until after they have had time to review it, thats just what they do initially while they take time to discuss it in the mods room etc.
so lets not all panic just yet that Matt is gone forever as hopefully that wont be the case and they will commute it to a short ban to give him time to realise they arent going to be treated like that, and then he can come back on here later on and be part of the community again.

Im sure they wont want to lose him from the site, but clearly they had to do something.

Lets all just give them some time to look into it fully before anyone starts abusing them for misusing powers etc, thats only counterproductive IMHO.

 

There is no links or access for him to go and appeal.

 

i too hope matt gets a second chance on here ,i think he went over the top with tony but again it was heat of the moment kind of thing

he is one of the top people on this site and has gone out of his way to help lots and lots of people and hopefully the mods will take this into account

To be quiet honest from knowing Mat on here as i dont know him personally we all know what he's like but he's not the sort of person who sends/issues threats he would simply "do it" other than in banter but anyone that knows him knows its banter if he really was going to do something the first thing you would know about it would be to find him at your address or place of work!

 

Indeed, if he meant it, he wouldnt have just been talking about it, im sure the mods realise that too, but it doesnt change the fact that he broke a very serious rule, and they HAVE to treat that seriously no matter how much they all like him etc.

Mat is a good fella and it would be a shame to lose him from the site. Hopefully Mat and the mods can sort this out and he will be allowed back on here. IMO using something what has been said on FaceBook is not fair, it is not related to this site so I dont see what reasoning there is for the ban.

I didn't see the FB comments but from what I saw written on here on here i'd say that was deffo enough for an infraction. I personally would not expect to make comments like that and get ioff with it scott free.

Anyway, it's only an internet forum, not real life, I don't really care what happens either way, it's words on a computer screen. There are so many other things to be pissed off about an Pf is not one of them.

 

Personally I think that getting banned for something said off this forum is bollox, if its about a mod and been said on fb then surely its a personal matter and said mod needs to man up an grow a pair!! All imo of course
