Just picked up a mk2 fiesta it's low mileage and isn't in bad condition except has had a few knocks. Started the strip down today and order new rear panel and found and front panel and good second hand door at work. Still unsure about what engine conversion to go for so any tips and advise would be appreciated

Sounds good! There's plenty of options with regards to the engine. Cvh Turbo, Zetec, Zetec Turbo, Duratec etc etc. It's worth having a look at xrtwo.com as there's a lot of mk2's on there. Might help with inspiration

Thanks. Thought I'd ad a few pics as removed rest of the interior to see if it was hiding any more rot and glad to say it isn't that bad theres a few bits that need attention.

 

Found these in my girlfriends mums garage winner

 

6x13 ET19. RWD Escort wheels. Won't fit with XR2 front brake setup, you'd have to use spacers to make them fit.

Doesnt look too bad at all. What are the plans? I'd say street sleeper, a nice rs turbo engine and standard body would be great I reckon (but I am just thinking out loud here, your car at the end of the day). Good luck with it.

 

Thanks. I'm going to keep the outside as standard as possible thinking of having it white but then it's not originally so haven't decided yet. I was thinking rs turbo but also like the sound of a zetec on bike carbs or itb's. haven't done much research yet so still need figure out the best way to go
