Default S max won't start, now it will

We have a 56 plate s max 1.8tdci on Wednesday night it wouldn't start just rapidly clicked, so thinking it's the battery I checked it with a digital multimeter and the battery showed 11.43 volts? Had to wait til the next day to jump start it as my tools etc are at work. When it fired up the info display stated 'alarm system service required' thinking this was just an issue with the battery going flat I took little notice. I drove it around for a bit and it was starting fine, as i expected, thinking the battery was at fault and the alternator was holding enough charge for re starting. Yesterday the battery didn't even have enough juice to unlock the doors or illuminate interior light. So I jump started the car again so I could see if the alarm service issue would show up on my code reader, no dtc's there though, but selected clear dtc anyway. Now today I unlocked the car and all interior lights came on and the bloody thing started no problem, but there is now no alarm service required message on the info display, has anyone had this problem on their car? All I can find is that others with alarm service issues have had their wipers operate randomly on smax mondeo and galaxy, cheers, Roy
